Command and Request
Activity 1. Study the following explanation.
A command is a sentence that orders someone to do something. It ends with a period(.) or an exclamation mark(!)Examples:
Go to your room.
Clean the house.
Pick up the pieces of papers.
Close the door.
A request is a sentence that asks someone to do something. It ends with a period (.) or a question mark(?). Sometimes, the word please is used to in making requests.
Example:
Would you answer the phone?
Please get me a glass of water.
Would you turn off the aircon for me?
Please give me your address.
