Dalam bahasa Inggris, penomoran atau number biasa dikategorikan menjadi dua buah, yaitu Cardinal number dan Ordinal number.

Cardinal number merupakan nomor yang menyatakan jumlah, misalnya satu, dua, tiga, empat, dan seterusnya. Sedangkan Ordinal number merupakan nomor yang menyatakan tahapan atau tingkatan, misalnya pertama, kedua, ketiga, keempat, kelima, keenam, dan seterusnya. Berikut adalah penjelasan bagaimana penggunaan Cardinal Number dan Ordinal Number dalam Bahasa Inggris.

A. Cardinal Number

The numbers representing quantity e.g. 1, 2, 3, and so on.

100 : One Hundred / a hundred
200 : Two Hundred
600 : Six hundred
525 : Five hundred and twenty five
730 : Seven hundred and thirty

1.000 : One thousand / a thousand
2.000 : Two thousand
10.000 : Ten thousand
100.000 : One hundred thousand / a hundred thousand
